2014-15 EI Small Grant Program

The EI Small Grant Program supports faculty and instructional staff in their efforts to experiment with new technologies and new ways of learning. This year, the program offered grants of up to $15,000 each and focused on projects that would transform academic experiences through active, student-centered teaching approaches and evaluative practices. Examples of project themes included community engagement, learning communities, field-based experiences, blended learning, international collaborative courses, global awareness within on-campus courses and technology-enhanced environments.

Proposals should:

  1. Address how the project will transform the student learning experience
  2. Align with departmental priorities and include a signature of endorsement from the department chair
  3. Clearly articulate how the project will be sustained once the funds have been expended

Applications were reviewed and selected on a rolling basis until June 1, 2015, or for as long as funds remained available. Funding decisions were made within 2-3 weeks of receiving each application.

Questions should be directed to Mo Bischof, Associate Vice Provost (mo.bischof@wisc.edu), or Steve Cramer, Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (steven.cramer@wisc.edu).
